دموع الجنرال The General's Tears

We all care for our families in  varying degree.

جميعنا نهتم بعائلاتنا بدرجات مختلفة 

I've been working with him for quite sometime;  a retired General from a foreign country. He is so polite, courteous, intelligent, and presentable. He makes you feel good about yourself. He greets everybody as is he is their best friend, asking about morals, family, and health. This General is a human being regardless.

أعمل معه منذ مدة؛ جنرال متقاعد من بلد أجنبي. شخص مؤدب، مهذب، ذكي، وأنيق. يجعلك تشعر بطريقة طيبة عن نفسك. يرحب بالجميع كما لو انه يعرفهم منذ زمن، يسأل عن المعنويات، والعائلة، والصحة. هذا الجنرال إنسان بغض النظر عن أي شيء آخر..

What I know for sure is that this General loves his daughter so much. He can't help but talk about her in every chat we've had. She's a grown up girl now. The last time we talked, I told him how precious my little girls is to me. How I can't wait to go home to see her. How disappointed I am when I find her asleep when I get home. How my life flourishes when she's around me.

ما انا متأكد منه هو ان هذا الجنرال يحب ابنته حباً جماً. لا يسعه سوى التحدث عنها في كل محادثة جرت بيننا. هي إمرأة بالغة الآن.  في آخر مرة تحدثنا أخبرته عن شعوري تجاه ابنتي، وكم هي غالية بالنسبة لي. كم أتوق للعودة للمنزل كي أراها، وكم يخيب ظني حين أجدها نائمة. كيف تزهر حياتي بوجودها.

He told me how he feels about his daughter, how they have this special relationship between them, then he added: Let me tell you, there is no father in the world who loves his daughter more than I do..then his eyes were filled with tears, and he couldn't speak no more, so he excused himself and left.

أخبرني عن شعوره تجاه ابنته كيف لديهم تلك العلاقة المميزة وأضاف: دعني أخبرك، لا يوجد أب يحب ابنته بمقدار حبي لإبنتي، ثم اغرورقت عيناه بالدموع، ولم يستطع اكمال كلماته، واستأذن للرحيل، ومضى..

I wish them both a long life with the company of each other. It is really hard to be away from the one's you love. I hope I would never have to do that. I know that I am on a crossroads, where I have to take a decision of either stay or move on. One thing I am sure of is that my loved one's are coming with me. No one is going to be left behind, not if I can help it.

 أتمنى لهما حياة طويلة بصحبة أحدهما الآخر. من الصعب حقاً أن تكون بعيداً عمن تحب. أتمنى أن لا أجد نفسي في هذا الموقف أبداً. أدرك أني أقف الآن على مفترق طرق، وانه سيتحتم علي اتخاذ القرار في البقاء أو المضي. لكن هناك أمر انا على ثقة منه وهو ان أحبابي قادمين معي. لن أدع احدهما ورائي أبداً ما دام ذلك باستطاعتي...
